Now its time to start building the creative elements to feature in the Book cover design.

In this tutorial I am going to discuss and demonstrate how you can create a 3D Type composition in Adobe photoshop.

Once created we will be using this in the main book cover for our book design.

In this video tutorial I will be using Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 for mac. Almost all of the principles demonstrated and covered will apply to future and previous versions. Some differences may apply if you are using a previous or future version.

  1. when i try to make the shadows on the letters, the brush tool (soft brush, 0% hardness, normal blending mode, following instructions exactly as shown) only produces hard edges. i don’t have this problem in any other document. HELP NEEDED

  2. I have a couple of issues while doing this. The ruler guides does not really center to the transform tool middle circle. When you select the Paper group folder and move them to the center when I try to do it it only moves the layer clicked on. Am I missing something?
