Sorry for sounding like a weirdo, but I was just coming off of a cold. Anyway, this is part 2 of 3D printing, start to finish. In this tutorial, I will show you how to model a real world object, an angle bracket for joining two pieces of 8020 extrusion at a 90 degree angle, how to put holes in your model, as if to produce holes that were drilled.

  1. Thank you for this tutorial! I am new to Blender and 3-d modeling but I am trying to learn so I can create custom pieces (like buckles) for costumes. This is the first tutorial I have watched after the Blender introduction videos and it was really easy for a newbie like me to follow.

  2. The 'blender units' issue is a bit of a turn off for me. I realize you can set metric actually, but when I tried creating mm sized parts, they were too tiny for the work space really.
Question: How did you make sure your 'blender units' part was true to life scale when you printed it? Did you have to rescale it in another program before printing?

  3. Suggestion: when you refer to a key-press combo, put a little label overlay or bubble on the video stating the key press (e.g. "Ctrl-P"). I missed one or two of them when you said them quickly and I had to review a couple of times to get it.

  4. Hi I REALLY NEED YOU TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION… okay so i need to do 2 things for what i am building, i need to make a cup… i have added a cylinder, but i dont know how to hollow out the inside… i also need to add a rectangle that i can cut the corners off to make a slant at the end of the rectangle…. HOW WOULD I DO THIS?

  5. Thanks for the info, but if your going to make more videos, please buy a new mic! The clicking is very annoying and is taking away from your great tutorial. It seems to be in all of your blender videos!
