    On aside: did anyone else have a "no connection" when they went through the steps? (i'm new with this so i dont know what the cause is or how to fix it)

  6. To all newbies; delete the workbench and search for the MySQL installer. Once there, install the developer version of MySQL which includes server and workbench.Once installed, you won't have to set up your server/workbench connection manually!
