Really appreciate this resource, thanks
Awesome refresher course…thank you! I am taking this prior to kicking off an ethical hacker course – where this will come in handy
Depends on what your definition of " Beginner " is.
Thank you so much Nick. nice course 🙂
Please add the translation either in Arabic or English ……. Thank you for the valuable content
Why do you use an asterisk when using "apt-cache search bluefish*" but not for "apt-cache search gimp"?
apt is the official new version of apt-get, u can google for the differences

Linux is cheap Unix and as most cheap things leaves a lot to be desired. Too many flavors and too many fingers in the pie. Major ERP suppliers do not support most Linux flavors and neither does Oracle.
I ran the IT department for a medium sized company and before that a couple of major government companies. Linux was banned.
I have used many Linux distributions but only for single application support.
why is this on a windows desktop
Hate to say it guys but uh, this reminded me why I don't use Linux. Lots of stuff just doesn't work, lots of extra steps to do stuff that should be simple.
For fork's sake it's Ooboontoo – Oo – boon – 2. Or a meringue.
haha 1:51:46 he forgot to hide his pirated torrents 😀
But he started on windows

Thank you!
this escalates exponentially.
"if you want to move a file this is just like copy but without retaining the file in the original position" that is simple and dumb. but what was teh write/read priviledges in numbers? why were there numbers? why are you using dos to do any of this?
"user root and group root" what is a group?
why are some commands vowelless like mv and others use a different naming scheme like chown?
"if i type out the permissions it has it would look like 644" what?
"four corresponds to read access" how?
"six corresponds to write access" how?
does that mean that there is an array or object of traits?
does that 644 mean: user gets 6, group gets 4, and something else also gets 4?
do the numbers represent integrated switches? so 6 means 0110, with bits 2 and 3 actually holding the inclusive meaning?
delete, read, write, ???
i realize i sound like an ingrate but since you tried selling this as educational material- you need to go in baby steps. there was a huge jump in difficulty from using the visual interface and typing in the dos box. there is another jump in difficulty when you presume stuff is obvious and talk pragmatically instead of explaining what is going on.
on the screen right now at 2:04:27 there are a bunch of lines the lines have text/string segments separated into collumns. what the collumns are matters more than the way the content in one collumn works. explain what i'm loooking at. what is the 4096 number collumn? is the date, creation or last-edited? what do the colors of text mean?
what is cd?
"i can see the file is also owned by the root?" how is this profound? doesn't the root own everything? also how does ownership work? how do multiple users share ownership rights without making it public?
Thank you very much sir. Lets see if i can learn something here. If my brain can take it. I salute you for all the work you have done here. Nice to see there are people out there with that open source sharing principle in this money making world. Thanks again! For the people that know how to install a virtual ubuntu, here`s where its started up again https://youtu.be/wBp0Rb-ZJak?t=2242
Hello Joseph, that was a bad ass video! I learned a lot. I am looking for a bash scripting course that provides real-world examples of how and why a bash script would be written. I know how to write bash scripts, but am unsure as to where or why to use them. Do you know of a course like this, free or paid, it does not matter to me, I just want to learn the content. Also do you know any could tutorials on cron jobs?
Hi! No offence but why is dis 7 hrs?
thanks for your tutorial….i hope Allah SWT always blessing you
