Could you not just create a database using phpmyadmin. Whats the difference?

Amazing even 6 years later bluehost.com looks exactly the same xD
instead of web hosting, its better to use xampp for this tutorial.
Thanks for these tutorials, however it is 5 years ago haha.
you can do this all for free at

A free web hosting site that will allow you to create a database ? I doubt it . "Moron"
For those of you who want to do this on local host using XAMPP:
Open your xampp control panel (type xampp into your start menu search bar)
When it opens up, make sure the box "Svc" next to "MySql" is ticked. If it isn't, tick it and MySql will be installed.
Click the "Start" button if it isn't running already.
Now that it's started and installed, click on the "Admin" button next to the "Start" button.
On the page that opens up, click on "Databases". You will be on a page similar to bucky's.

@BingMedia Well I am also British and to me, it is as you say pronounced date-a-base. But to Americans it is pronounced dat-a-base. You do realise that he is an American right?
At the end of the day you know what he means and he is making tutorials to help you so why bitch about the way he correctly (in his country) pronounces a word?
this dude has probably moved on from php by now since its been 3 years.
@nagzul its "mypassword"
@BingMedia @BingMedia Seriously…are you some British dude whose trying to act smart about pronunciation? Well if you are british, have you noticed how the majority of the population don't pronounce a 't' in the middle of a word?….So yeah…an american might say 'ugh' to that….

I guess the tutorial ends here for me…… 🙁
I have no website.. yet.
i think the password is meganfox jajaja
I wondered how you did this using XAMPP? I tried creating one from phpMyAdmin but it doesn't appear to work in the same way that is being demonstrated in this tutorial. I would be very grateful if someone could direct me to a demonstration that deals with this, or otherwise tell me what I'm doing wrong.
If you want to do all this offline, you can either use a program called XAMPP or WAMP, the latter is easier and I personally use it.
Thumbs up if you lost when he named his database.
