Just needs some dirt, more color, and some plants. Then that would be one sweet render!
Cycles has come so far in 6 years
Remember how exciting that day was?
You got that right. Blender is always coming out with new innovative ideas. I remember when it was a mediocre program about 3 years ago. Now it is AWESOME!!!
hope for more support with opencl

I was looking at FurryBall for Maya (for 99 euros), then I decided to give Blender another go… wow
How dare you say that?!
Maya was used in the production of James Cameron's Avatar!
I don't understand why Blender isn't considered a media outlet… LOOK AT WHAT IT CAN DO. and you're telling me it's lower than 3DS Max? give me a break…
if you have a small renderfarm.. ( or a big, of course xD ) cycles could render real time O.o
@sslaxx They (Refractive Software) didn't get legally uppity, but verbally, accusing Brecht of stealing code from his time working for them.
Then the source code was realeased. Nine months later, Refractive Sofware has still been silent. You can't get much better proof of code originality than that.
Cycles does borrow some code from other open source projects. Legally, of course.
@lucasB823 He didn't. He got the model from somewhere else.
If you want to learn how to model, practice practice practice and one day it will all make sense. Modeling is half thinking, half doing (In my experience).
i have a really nice graphic card and cycles doesn't support it
idk how he molded that train. i wish i was that good at modeling… ๐
@brechtvanlommel Did Octane get legally uppity over Cycles?
man go with voice next time
I am trying to find the new version of Blender that has Cycles for my class and I cannot find it. Anybody know HOW to find it and download it properly?
This is redinkulous!!
@brechtvanlommel yeah this is blenders own code . Haters gonna hate . Still it will be a great addition to the all mighty Blender ๐ . 2.6 is going to rock the world : camera tracking , gpu rendering , that mesh paiting thing , bmesh , A true all in one package. Still won't get you in the industry too quick ๐ . Best bet is to be rich , afford college and learn 3ds max there with luck if your good youll get hired after you finish it ๐ . pay to LIVE
@postrock That's a group node. A group node just contains other nodes. It's a way of keeping your nodes organized.
With this and Bsurfaces being integrated, Blender will whizz past most commercial products.
