  1. So I'm trying to follow along, but when I hit the render key (F12) the background shows up, but the image/plane doesn't. I checked everything I know how to check:

    1) The camera icon is active
    2) The eye icon is active
    3) Everything is checked in "Cycles Settings" under the "Object" settings
    4) Duplication is set to "None" under "Duplication" under the "Object" settings

The same issue occurs under "Blender Render" also. I'm using 2.78c on Ubuntu 16.04. What's going on here? Thanks.

  2. Hi, it is a very nice tutorial.
But, I few questions that might seem naïve: Why bothering to render (it takes time)? We kind of already have a nice video without it, just using the time line (7:10 -> 7:19). I mean, if the lighting, shadow stuffs, etc. are not considered, it should be alright and there won't be much of a difference. Right? (I hope I am not missing anything important)
Is it a matter of saving it in a file in order to make a 2D movie? Why does it takes so much time? I mean, video games show several different actions, and there is no time for rendering every single time an action is taken.

(Sorry for so many questions, it might not be the correct place for it. I just don't know where else I should publish it. If you know where, please, let me know.)

Other question: How could it be done for a real-time tracking version, with a pre-recorded video like in your tutorial?

    Thank you in advance.

  3. Thanks for the tutorials, they're very helpful. I just have one question. I followed everything and my 3D View looks and animates just like the tutorial, my problem is rendering. In the tutorial when you click the render button (camera icon) in the Render Layers Node at 7:42 everything outside of your image appears as an alpha channel, but on mine everything outside of my image appears as opaque. Any ideas on why I'm not getting the alpha channel to appear outside of my image? Thanks.

  4. For some odd reason my scene doesnt composite with the movie clip. I just put a skyrim helmet on the markers but the backround is still alpha not composited even tho its parented to the empty object markers along with the backroun image as the clip. still doesnt work. Then i tried cycles engine, didnt make a difference. Any idea why?
