This is a tutorial for the Blender addon hardops made by MasterXeon1001. I create here a very simple object just to show some features of this addon.

  1. About to buy Hard ops, and Box cutter, and came looking for tutorials.
Love your slow, methodical approach to teaching.
Keep up the great work. Will be watching,- (and learning from,) -more of your brilliant Tuts.
    Subbed, Liked.

  2. why does my Slash operation not appear to do anything at all? it works on two new cubes, but with a new cube and my current mesh nothing happens.. the first object selkected turns into a wireframe, and the other object is unchanged 🙁

  3. Thanks for these videos. Long-time 3dsMax user looking to add Hardops/Boxcutter to my workflow. Just wondered if you know why Blender is creating objects(Shift+A) in screen space? when you do it in this video it creates in world space. Thanks.

  4. Hi, really enjoying your tutorials however there is one HUGE issue im having – I cannot find or use (C)Slice anywhere in the Q menu. I followed exactly the same steps, selected both objects but the only options I get are (C)slash, (B) Width and Step. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  5. Every time I take time to practice on this program I fall in love with it more and more. The plugins are endless and not expensive like in Maya, Max etc… The hotkeys are powerful and even the AO viewport looks OK, let alone the CPU+GPU rendering power in 2.79.2. Thank you developers of Blender never stop working on this great software for the masses!

  6. looks great. im a bit puzzled though. i feel i don't want to get use to use to many add-ons. as you say you can make the same without. maybe ill wait till im sure of all functions and then maybe start using add-ons like this. i think they can get in the way of finding your own workflow with blender. you may even forget how to work without a specific addon. what do you think? cheers

  7. Hello! Thanks for this nother great tutorial for this superb addon. Any ideas why it causes errors when you jus duplicate already sharpened and beveled cubes and use them with the hard ops operations? I cant seem to get it working like you well describe in your video. My slices cause broken geo. Even if I create all new cubes each time, like you do. Applying scale and all does not help unfortunately. I followed every step…and the indents on the side jus dont work for me as clean as they work in the video. 🙁 Help appreciated.

  8. Please ignore my first comment.  I figured out what I did wrong.  In order to get the same results as your video I had to create the bevel on the second cube before stretching it out in length.  Then I got the corners the way you show.  If I put the bevel on after the cube is made longer the corners are not a perfect arc but rather an elliptical curve on the long side of the shape.
