Having realistic materials is the golden rule for creating photorealistic scenes in 3D modeling, and when using Blender, you normally have to set up a bunch of different nodes to combine different texture maps to achieve the realistic results you want. But now that Blender has evolved throughout the years, the software has improved a lot, so today, I’m going to be showing you guys a fast and shorter method to creating realistic materials for your scene.
If you want to have even better results, this method is way longer, but still very good – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W07H7xeUnGE&t=1772s

About me:
I am a 16 year old Graphic Designer named Joshua. I create tutorials for CG beginners. I started using Blender in September 2015, which still makes me a beginner too! I’m no master, expert, or any of those high class fancy stuff, but it doesn’t mean I don’t know anything about 3D computer graphics. Learn the basics and secrets of 3D modeling!

❗️ Hello everyone. Before you comment below, I am aware that I have made a mistake in the video, saying that CrazyBump is free when it is not. I did not know they added a price to their software download, because when I first downloaded the software, it was free and open to the public for awhile, and I am sure because I WAS NOT given a trial period or any sort of "extended" or "full version" notification. Other people have commented saying I was wrong with that part and have been suggesting in the comments other free softwares that other people use for these texture maps such as InsaneBump or AwesomeBump. So please be the mature one and STOP spamming my comment section with the SAME COMPLAINTS. If you know any other software with these features (or similar), please comment them below so other users can know, otherwise, stop commenting. Thank you for reading. ❗️
One free piece of software I like is something called Shader Map 4.
blender crashed as I tried to connect the normal map to the normal at the diffuse…
thank you…great tutorial!

The one on the left looks better lol
Holy shit subbed!
I finally found somebody who can just explain things easy as it is possible BIG LIKE FOR YOU my friend and also a Subscriber <3
i thought that this whas about making textures
peeps just make sure you're on Cycles render.
this video should not be titled with creating. Should be using. As this does not create anything really it just use already created texture.
bro can i import this to unity
i tried many time
but after finish crazy bump trial it could not be installed
even i uninstalled from control panel but did not work
any software which is free like crazy bump ?
because i need that blue texture image and how to create blue image in photoshop i do not know.
Crazy bump is not free… you can also use MindTex (~$4-5 on G2A for the steam version but Substance B2M is the best but it's ~$99)
You can simply use this site to create normal map and other maps: http://cpetry.github.io/NormalMap-Online/
I'ts free and you don't need to download anything
i could barely draw a stick man.
could you make antother tutorial to create bump map in photoshop as well? thanks..
fucking shit this is so good than other good bid bro bcouse i'm finding some blender tutorial and they arefucking shit anyway ty bro
Your pushing it a bit far by calling that a realistic texture, regardless of it being a "fast" method there are so many elements missing from it.
Great video. I think to plug in all the various node. Here we need a macro or a addon which will make a readymade node on 1 click just we have to set the image and gloss or roughness. Thanks
all those stuff you are searching in node editor is not on my screen xD is this a old version? everything is completely different…
HELP! Dear author can provide a screenshot of this Shader. Damn, can't make your lesson. You missed a few frames, displaying the node "Mapping" at time 2:45
what do I do because there's no node and a new version for the image texture to be added
awesome video friend you made me subscribed. looking forward to learn from you.
make video on rain with the help of dynamic paint
I couldn't find "Image texture" in my Blender program
Awesome tutorial to achieve quick results! thanks 🙂
The awesome blender community sharing knowledge make the difference
Good, concise tutorial. However, I'd be careful calling the normal maps from crazybump (or any software that generates them from 2D images) 'lifelife' and 'realistic'. The result shown in your tutorial looks like linoleum printed/formed with a cracked earth pattern. It doesn't look like cracked earth.
sinple yet effective …. thanks a lot))))))))))
