  3. Hey there – I am not able to move the rig using the root control. Do you know why? I have no animation I am setting the project and wanted to start animating and I am not able to translate it. I tried to see if it is because it's a ".ma" file and saved the file without any animation in the ".mb" extension and that did not change anything. I even optimized the file and that did not work! please help 🙂 Thanks!

  4. I know this is an older rig and may not work right in Maya LT, but I have downloaded him and it looks like his root is not connected to the rig anymore. All of the other controls work. When I move the root control, it moves, but he doesn't…. how can I fix this, if i can?

  6. I get immediate errors importing this rig into Maya 2020. As well the main circle ring does NOT work. You guys should seriously fix this if you are going to advertise this free rig all over the internet for your classes. It doesn't come off very professional.

  8. Hi, thanks for the free tutorial. I'm having some issues with the character rig. It seems that the sqr_root_ctrl controller is broken. The character won't move. It look like that controller is unparented somehow… What can I do? I try fresh version I download it couple of times and issues stay the same. Thanks in advance.

I have just started out learning about animation and I have to say this is the perfect character for beginner's, It would be amazing if you could show us how you rigged this character, I am kind of working on a small 3D animated movie and I would love to create a sort of cute cartoony cat character with the same awseome rig !

  26. Hello, i cant wait to use this rig!!! but i have a problem. when i open it on my maya 2012 (using ignore version), the tail doesent shows. i see the tail rig but not the geometry of this. Im sorry but im beginner in Maya, and i dont know what i can do. No tail no fun!!!
    HELP PLEASE!
