A First Look at the New Tamron 70-180mm F/2.8 DI III VXD Lens

Tamron’s recent zoom lenses for Sony have been highly popular, and many photographers are waiting for the 70-180mm F/2.8 DI III VXD to hit the market. This video takes a quick first look at the new lens and what you can expect from it.

Coming to you from Matt Granger, this great first look video examines the forthcoming Tamron 70-180mm F/2.8 DI III VXD lens. The 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens has been a runaway hit for the company, and the 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD has been quite well received as well. The 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VXD will round out the trio of f/2.8 zoom lenses when it is released later this year, and if it brings with it the same sort of price and performance of its two cousins, it is sure to be another hit for the company. Granger seems to be decently impressed with the lens, as it seems to have snappy autofocus while producing sharp images. Of course, there is much more to be seen, but if the 70-180mm f/2.8 is anything like the 28-75mm and 17-28mm, Tamron is sure to have another success. Check out the video above for Granger’s full thoughts.
