In this video I composite a 3D tank into live action footage. The footage was tracked in Boujou, the tank was added and rendered using Maya, the compositing was done in After Effects

you should have illuminated with hdri and it would look amazing
cant u make a quick guide step to step tutorial on this ??
that would be really helpful if u do 🙂
I rendered my sequence from maya as a png sequence which supports transparency so no issues about removing the black background. Then I used curves and hue/saturation for color correcting the tank to properly match the scene. Since the shadow pass wasn't working for me i just used a black solid and feathered it out for the shadow
hey, I'm trying to do the same kind of effect as you here. my problem is when I import my jpg image sequence into after effects from maya, I don't know how to blend them to make them look like the same scene. I'm guessing when you rendered that tank it had a black background: how do you get rd of the black and just place the tank onto your live footage like you've done here. I'd really appreciate the help. cheers.
