Animating A Character Throwing a Ball in Autodesk Maya 2014

In this video I cover the basics of throwing a baseball, including switching from IK to FK on the arms, adding a parent constraint to control the ball, and making sure that the animation has strong poses to insure that the action is clear.

    I break the connection at frame 13 , but at the next frame 14 the locator ends up back on his wrist.
    please help?

    Seems when I set my character's keyframe, it loses up/down movement on controls but maintains rotation control, or it seems to also lose hierarchy control. Not sure why.

    Is there is a way to stick foot to the 0 X coordinate, so it’s stands on ground, or I have to do it manually?

    Hello!
    Is there is a way to rotate Ik control as I wish my character’s knee to bundle?
    Say I got arms, it’s bend like a knee, not like an arms (like I need it rotate the way opposite way to make it look natural)
    Or say the IK handle generated and it’s bend the wrong way, how do i fix it so it bend right?

    I am facing a slight problem…after setting the value of the parent to 0 for the locator, I set the previous keyframe as a set key for the ball. But, for the previous frames as well, that position gets set for the ball, it is no longer in the hand, but at the position where I had set the key. Why is it happening? It would really be great if you can help me out.

    21:27 here you had to press S after selecting locator to see blend option appear in channelbox. It would fix your ball position problem at next frame.

    Admittedly i haven't got to the point when i am animating things, and i assume it must be possible to load a second model in from a file into the same scene. But when you are done animating how do you convert it into a video file, i.e. One that would be played with a video player application?

    hey I'm a beginner in Maya and I'm stuck at 10:37 where at frame 10 you get his arm back and rotate the wrist.When i go from frame 10 to frame 1,the arm seems to have rotated for frame 1 too.Please help.

    Thanks a really nice guide for both the beginner and intermediate a lot of good tips of creating natural poses and making exaggerated poses to emphasis the ball being thrown. I'm starting my 3D animation course next year and this will definitely help me get a hang of Maya!!

    I was wondering. When you animate extremes or set any key frames, do you not set a key for every bone? When I would make an extreme and the whole pose looked just the way I want it i would mark all of it.
