Hello, open gaming fans! In this week’s edition, we take a look at Ink scripting language and Atomic Game Engine going open source, GameWorks SDK 3.1 released by NVIDIA, and new games out for Linux.

Now open source: Ink scripting language, Atomic Game Engine
Inkle studio, the developers behind games like Sorcery! and 80 Days, has open sourced the Ink scripting language used to create their games. The compiler is released under the MIT license on GitHub. Also, check out a detailed tutorial.
Atomic Game Engine features cross-platform editing and deployment to Windows, OSX, Android, iOS, Linux, and WebGL. Atomic allows games and applications to be written in JavaScript, TypeScript, C++; plus, they hope to support C# scripting in the future. AGE is licensed under the MIT license. NVIDIA launches GameWorks SDK 3.1
NVIDIA announced availability of the latest release of their software development kit (SDK) on Pi Day this year (3/14/16). GameWorks 3.1 introduces three graphics techniques for shadows and lighting as well as two new physical simulation algorithms released as betas. Read the full announcement.

Battle of Empires
Battle of Empires: 1914 – 1918 is a real time strategy game from Great War Team and Publisher Best Way Soft. It was released for Linux platform recently. Here is what Gaming on Linux has to say about the game:
The first campaign is devoted to the battles between the French and German armies on the Western Front. The second campaign is devoted to the battles between the Russian and German armies on the Eastern front. Both of these campaigns are included in the base game. Gameplay is similar to other Men of War based titles, with the ability to control your men, at divisional, squad and soldier levels.
The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça & Pizzaboy
The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça & Pizza Boy transforms the graphic novel series published by Dark Horse Comics into a point-and click adventure. In this game, you’ll play Eurico, an ex-pizza delivery guy and unpaid apprentice of legendary occult detective Dog Mendonça, as you uncover the mysteries of Lisbon’s supernatural underworld.
