  1. can someone please help me? i made a pillar, and i would like to add gold and marble textures to it.. how do i add it, and how can i see my progress/changes as i'm making them before render. any help is appreciated.

  2. LOL You know what people say – ignorance is a bless. You, mate, are a truly blessed man. XD The single fact that you call this "Autodesk" tells me you have no idea what this is. Autodesk is the company behind Maya (the software used in this video).

  3. @Ammagadon there are file types that are supported by both, but they're not the native .mx or .mb/file types. for example, if you export a model from maya as an .obj it will import into max and vice versa

    I'm taking 3D animation in College. If I remember right, 3ds max is best used for buildings and scenes, while Maya is best used for Character design… either that or Zbrush….

  5. Whats the differnce between Maya and 3ds max?

    I currently use 3ds max. But i cant really tell the difference between the two, like the pro's/cons. IF some1 could tell me what they are that would be great!

  6. yes that character was made inside of Maya I think the artist working on this spent a couple weeks making here and all the stuff that went with her for other demos. If you are looking for characters and pre-built material check out websites like Turbosquid.

  7. I use 3d max But now im learning Maya, Final Opinion: 3d MAX SUCKSSS!!!
    If you want liquids need a pluging, convincent fire Need a pluging, all they do is improve the way you move a vertex!! FUck 3d Max.. VIVA MAYA

  8. @ErrorrPerfect learn Softimage or the old lightwave first make a xsi animation then one on maya then speak!!! everybody has maya. pd. todays 3d aplications doesn diferr too much,,, games, movies, graphycs, anything u want …u got it!! and by the way..ask the one who buys everythin good: Autodesk!!!

    umm.. u know maya like the back of your hand.. lol I am doing maya 5 years now.. and maya is not just a toll that u can learn in a week or even in a year maya is so big that it take many years maybe 15 years or maybe more..even the basic's in maya it not that simple and if u got the basic's then u have to learn the rest like fluids modeling rendering light + animation + composting + motion tracking so I think u talk to much …
