  1. Hm I also have the same problem but I followed every step. My apple is splitted like in 5:10 but in texture editor, it's also splitted into millions of pieces.

  2. as long as you followed the steps in the video it shouldn't do that. That only happens if you didn't create an initial planar map so there are no cuts on the UV yet.

  3. select a face first and then press shift + . which is the same as shift + >
    on the keyboard. You can also select the face/s and go to the select menu and choose grow selection from there.

  4. I don't know what you mean. are you talking about using maya materials? whenever you want to texture something you always have to create uv's for your objects.

  5. Good video but you need to explain the key shortcuts more and how you are doing things. Exmaple would be when you are in the UV texture editor, how are you manipulating certain parts? When I try to move certain parts the whole thing moved.
