This video shows a timelapse video on how to model a stylized Obelisk model. Autodesk maya was used to model, Zbrush to sculpt, and Substance Painter for texturing. It took about 30 minutes to make.

W- move
E- rotate
R- scale
G- repeat last command
q – exit tool
b- soft selection
shift + . – grow selection
alt + b – change background color
f – fit to selection
ctrl + a – open attribute editor/channel box
ctrl + delete – deletes an edge loop( 2014 version and up only)
1 – standard mode
2- subdivision mode with cage
3- subdivision mode
4- wireframe
5 – shaded mode
6- texture mode

  1. Hi! I love your videos! I was wondering how you get your low poly models into zbrush and then divide them without them losing their shape. It doesn't seem like you are putting in supporting edges on them. For example I am working on some Rune stones and they all lose their shape as soon as I subdivide. Thanks!

  2. hi , i have a question , do you bavel the low poly to zbrush , then bake it to first low poly ? because i saw smooth mod was on and when i send a single box to zbrush then divide it , it turns to ball . yours arent . @1:32 right side = sdiv is 8 and smt mod is on . how could it possible , thanks

  3. Thanks for all the good stuff. How do you get a clean bake (normal map) in SP with all those overlapping pieces? Do you separate them out (explode) before baking? Cheers
