In this two-part video, I demonstrate how to animate a falling leaf or feather using path animation in Autodesk Maya 2020. This is another one of those essential animation exercises that demonstrate several principles of animation. In this, I show how you can attach an object to a path and show how to set, modify, and adjust the keyframes on the path and use the Graph Editor to adjust the speed and slow-in/slow-out of the object.
The feather model and texture I used in this tutorial can be downloaded from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gEDK4xtzxDjkuNT7q3-Y6-mkjFrKFlb6/view?usp=sharing
Or you can use a leaf model I created, which can be downloaded at https://drive.google.com/file/d/17p07oNkcP7Il9hi8ASwQJIHuHL8hVaMs/view?usp=sharing
To use these files, un-zip (un-compress) the files and place the Maya file (.ma) in your scenes directory, and place the texture file in the sourceimages directory.
