Code Canyon

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/SGHWh9ON4HA/hqdefault.jpg

(HD Voice Tutorial)
lots of tips and tricks covering the split polygon tool, the smooth mesh tool, and of course how to use the extrude tool.
i will be using maya educational 2010 but as the technique is simple it should work with any version of maya. like 2009 2008 8.5 etc.
hope this helps

Or you can just click the polygon shelf tab. And you should also let people know that nurbs wont be accepted into most game engines so you should people should just get used to using polygons.

I am having trouble with the extrude tool. When I try to use the tool, instead of the tool that shows in this tutorial, I get spikes off my cube. How can I fix this?

when I click the extrude button nothing happens whatsoever.. Is this because I am using the student version of Maya?

Big foot with a missing foot maybe? I want to build a castle and I think this tutorial might have helped me. What I want is to build the foundation (A square) then use extrude to make the walls, would that be possible?

I don't know what the problem is, but when I try to extrude a faces the "arrow" doesn't pop up on my display as if it does nothing when I do edit mesh -> extrude.

it depends on what you are doing?
it is good to have a basic knowledge of both, however you should choose one to learn in-depth and then you can transfer skills to each one. maya is used by a lot of production houses for film and visual effects. 3ds max and maya are both used for film and games. it really depends on which interface you prefer. go to videocopilot(dot)net
    hope this helps.
