A series of videos showing how to model, texture, and light a low polygon Treasure Chest. This video is intended for intermediate maya users who know how to navigate and know how to create really simple models. I will be using many of the tools available in maya for modeling. After the modeling process is complete, I will show you how to UV this particular model. Once the modeling and UV unwrapping process is completed, I will proceed to texture the model using the latest version of adobe photoshop cs6.
Enjoy. Questions and comments are encouraged! Create your own website : http://www.weebly.com/link/6KXeZQ

Great video! Just think, all that time 3D modelers spent creating textures in Photoshop, and then some wonderful people gave us Substance Painter.
what tool did you click on at 42:45, as the layout is much different in maya 2018
Did you arrange the UV by yourself at 1:12:41. because when I use layout all the UV bottom and the top part just overlap each other
Made it! 😛 Thank you so much
thank you! this helped me heaps!! I've subscribed (:

excellent tut
How do i get that box in the top right corner.. I used to have it in Autocad then i was using that 😛
…Yo just for your future reference, if you're really doing this video to help others, than maybe you should consider a more detailed explanation of your thought process, (step-by-step-man) instead of assuming everyone's skill level.
You leave out a lot of important information about functions used, for example, but great video though.Quite informative.
No one knows what skills you expect, hence all the question about what tools you're using.
Thanks helped a lot 🙂
For the Treasure Chest side knob, it doesn't turn into a straight line when I use cylindrical mapping, I set the attribute to 90 but it still ends up looking like "~~" instead of a straight line.
What command do you use on 4:52 after "Extrude"?
