Let’s UV map a character. In this video we begin by UV mapping the head. I go over using Pinning and Live Unwrap, as well as the Proportional Editing tool.

How does he get the edges to be rounded like that?
You are awesome.. UV mapping has been for me one of the most complex things to understand in 3D… there is none other except Cycles Material nodes and Texture Baking…
But you made that simple to understand and utilize it to full performance…
Million Thanks Bro…
I understand the checker texture BUT how do we draw, paint or photo a REAL face on it?? That's what I don't get.
none of those tools works for me , last blender 2.74a i think
doesn't work for me
A superb series! Thanks for the help!
Why cant one unwrap the front of the face first then unwrap the neck after. That way we can get a nice large workable area to do the face ? ? I will keep watching.
I love ur video and have a question i have posted the question in blender stack exchange but i did not get the answer from them this is the link http://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/67170/why-does-the-uv-texture-looks-blurred
can u plz give me suggestion where im going wrong . Thanks for the video
I always thought that is you are going to paint onto a mesh you do not need the UV mapping to be even.
hey lile, i watch your videos all the time.Hey after u, shift H and uv map a sertain part. How do you save all the part so they are seprate on the uv map. When i export.
Thanks
Hi. you didn t tweak the projection mode? (few years ago I saw a demostration of SOFTIMAGE XSI, and the cg artist was using various set of projection each one oriented to match optimizly the topolgia. Does this kinf of process can be appply with bledner ?
So if I have a seamless texture then I don't have to worry about marking seams? Or did I get the seam logic wrong?
Thank you
theres a face only a mother could love.
My blender doesn't have a image texture on nood mode. How can I get it?
Dude this is super helpful I never knew about pinning thank you!

Hello
i need help when I scroll down with my mouse wheel there is no white circle T_T how can i fix thast problem
Hi Darrin! Thanks so much for your video tutorial!
When I am pinning my vertices and trying to move them around (using the "G" key), sometimes the pinned vertex itself will move but the rest of the mesh will not. This seems to happen sporadically, as sometimes the mesh does move/scale with the pin, but sometimes it does not. Do you know why this could be?
I d like to see one on water and glass objects.
My mesh only unwraps as half. It looks like it's a side view of my mesh, but it doesn't show both sides. What can I do?
Hello
Can I Unwrap & Texture Paint Half of the Mesh and apply Mirror Modifier in the end? Thanks' Mic
Man, I love Blender, but it is SO hard in the learning curve dept. Just knowing that you NEED TO KNOW something is the thing. THEN how in the world to do it. I've spent a week simply trying to figure out how to use the proportional editing tool to curve the inside bottom of a glass and STILL don't have it! LOL I saw it here again and can't figure out in which order, and which buttons to press in the right combo to accomplish this. ANY help is appreciated in this dept. Although, I'm at least seeing what Blender can do with these vids to help answer some of the "need to know, to know, to do." stated above. Thanks for another GREAT VID!
