It’s simple to use HDRI in blender 2.8. This video will show you the basics of how to get a hdri image into your scene and how to render with and without the background. It’s a simple setup in both EEVEE and Cycles. Check it out.

For those who want more (until I get my own crazy library of videos uploaded), these courses are pretty solid. http://bit.ly/blendercourses
They are not mine, but I can get a few dollars for recommending them (full transparency here), which helps me make more videos anyway.

  1. thank you Sir, 2nd time i found my 2.8 answer with blenderBinge! the transparent background is now hidden behind the film, if the film was still transparent i had could find it alone :-). And I've been looking for the object smooth button for 2 days, thank you very much, currently I'm always back to 2.79 to assign the smooth.

  2. Smoke seems to be working now. But I’m not seeing hDRI lighting it up. Any tricks? Or is it not working yet… Thanks great tutorial..and….it wont f12 render background.swtich to cycles with no changes, it does. Well i rendered from after resetting to factory default now it works…who knows
