Hello there Blender users. Collin here showing you a new technique i have learned. When i have looked before for a tutorial on youtube on how to make a character in blender pick up on object i had little luck. So now that i have learned, i was hoping to try and help get a tutorial out there for people to find a little easier by clearly writing out that in the title and tags. Now i am a little new to this myself so you will find i have a little trouble getting him to put it back down. It seems by decreasing the influence of the modifier, the object returns to the position when the influence was first keyframed. So if you would like to allow the character to drop it, you would have to make a keyframe of the sword in his hand, and also key frame the influence at 1. then one frame later set a key frame on only the influence at 0. and lastly a few frames later key frame the object in the space you wish for it to land and that should do it.
Hope this tutorial helps. Also one last note, when i said i would fast forward, whenever i rendered the footage, all that i had fast forwarded went black so i ended up just leaving it normal speed so you could see.
