How to get rid off those black spots?
You may also select all front faces by.. … Edit Mode … Face Mode ….Select a single face ….. Then… Select Menu … [[Select Similar … Normal ]]. This will all faces facing in the same direction as the original

You can select with letter C, also make it bigger or less with your mouse scrollweel 😀

In order to get rid of dark edges, select text, text.001 and text.002 and add an edge split modifier in the modifiers tab 😛

made it to 7:46 on the video and realised i knew more about blender than this video can teach me ……………design course ………….naaaaa
Before select you all faces, press A, and W, and click on REMOVE THE DOUBLES, it's help a lot! I don't know why, all time after transform TEXT to MESH, Blender auto-duplicate all vertices, and you need do this ritual!
