Update : I’ve added an artwork here :
http://tomwalks.deviantart.com/art/Tornado-3D-Blender-2-62-297222073

The smoke resolution is set to 64 (division), with high resolution set to 3.
A little more than an hour to bake, 4 to 5 hours to render the whole video.
Sand and fire tornado are done just by changing the material.

  1. You all make your tornadoes to small, the really thin types. The one I'm doing is a mile wide wedge tornado. I made an animated noise texture in Sony vegas and used masking to make the shape of the funnel. Then I just use it as an images sequence texture on a large 2d plane. Just goes to show that you don't need particles and smoke Sims to do stuff like this. Try using animated textures to cheat certain things.

  2. Lattam a filmet.
