Your tutorial is a mess and you seem more than a little confused. I don't want to learn every wrong way of doing something before I learn the right way to do it ๐
The audio cuts out.
I noticed that in all character modeling tutorials, all of the models used seemed to be stone faced with their arms at their sides. What if my reference images are of models that say are doing the Elvis lip curl, one eyebrow raised andย one arm up other arm down?
Now, we'll use the… Big Bertha… no, the Black Panther…. or Batman.
Shoots head
Thanks ๐ย
why is it when she right clicks she gets all these choices and when i right click nothing happens? ๐
lol every time she says batman i hit my head on the desk…anyone here a doctor?
๐ฎ i just realized after this tutorial that my character was backwards. she was facing left in left ortho i dont know if that's right now but my images are facing the same way yours are. so is your model facing the correct way?
that helped thats for sure lol. seems blender is all hotkeys once u understand those…well thats half the battle! my hotkeys randomly started working towards the end of your video when you started adding loopcuts dont know why then it was much easier ๐ great tut
25:19 yes i totally agree ๐ unfortunately im just frustrated and trudging on xD. im using blendercookie, blenderguru, your videos and other random videos to try and learn its pretty slow going though
i think i figured it out…at least that part… my hotkeys are seemingly useless as of right now… so when you download blender do you need to set all of these up or they dont work in 2.68?
at 21:08 you said press S and then Y so scale along the Y axis just like we did along the X axis but…for some reason i go to do that and it will not move. i went moved around to see the 3d object better and im still selecting both vertices…so i dont understand what im missing now? sorry to keep bothering you
is using a cube bad when doing this method? would a cylinder be better?
omg…then blender thing is very difficult to work with i knew it would be hard but…its also just blender in general…im watching your video and following along only difference is im using a different reference picture and yet i cant follow along…ill be here all day and the sole fault is blender and how difficult it is to work with
:/ and then for when you scaled my right side moved..my left side is in front view and my right side is in left view…do i have to add two images? maybe that is issue?
at 20:16 for some reason it is still selecting both boxes even when i go wireframe. i followed you step by step. the boxes only follow each other for this and when i move them vertically but i can move them separately while horizontal
not just your videos but also blendercookie's and blenderguru i often notice..my hotkeys dont work the same… 5 doesnt work for me but manually going in and clicking view then ortho works but odd my hotkeys dont work
still difficult but i have a nice picture to mess around with and mess up multiple times until i get it right. i just like this method seems like the easiest so far front and side view to get the thickness of the character or object.
oh wow… NO ONE else go over HOW to do this…it was so hard to find lol thank you
welcome, starting to get into modeling to start working on some games so your videos have been helping me start out
i really like your method of teaching
that awkward picture…
ok this is just a comment but it isn't that in one view changes and in the other don't, its just a different perspective, when you change something in the x axis, in the other view can't notice because it isviewing from the side and you cant appreciate the change facing the YZ view, but in both there is the z axis so if you move or change the object in the z axis you can see that the other view reflects the movement, just a comment.
My borders won't select and I can't move the bottom border of my shape upwards like you did ๐ 20:10 My shape and borders are orange. I am in Edit mode with wireframe on. Whenever I hit b to select border, I select it like you did but nothing happens. Any suggestions? Thanks ๐
Oh lol I actually read all the prev. comm. and found out how ^^ , but LOL that was a fast replay to my question ๐
Keep up the good work , i am currently done with this part of the video and it looks like somthing ๐ Lets see what it comes out ^^
I have exactly the same version you do , but when I click "N" and then select my image it doesn't show up , allthought it says the image is selected and so on..
Any help? ๐
OMG HUN!! Thank you so much! <3
Black panther is a different superhero btw (my fav) ๐
This is great! For ages i've wanted to make a person but i couldnt do anything but your video has saved me! <3 <3 <3
Thanks so much, gonna check them out. ๐
Where did you get your reference photo, or where might I be able to get reference photos like it? (not necessarily the comic book style man, but pictures of different things with front, side, and back view) google isnt so good with looking for this type of thing for me for some reason. Thanks in advance
And just a great tutorial, it helped me much more than the ten or more I watched before.
Great voice!
Heh you just made my day, great job i love the slowness, hope you take that as a complement.
I grabbed my bottle of coffee and watched your video untill the end *-*
