  2. Beginners means that we ( the dumb ones ) no nothing about blender. Just downloaded it and sit back and beginning to enjoy your tutorial. Then, bing bang do this do that…………..how what hey woooo doh ??????? this IS NOT for beginners but for people who already know the keys to scale, to Z, X etc axes, to go to edit mode ? geeeeeeeeeeeeeeze never mind…I'lll go find a tutorial that really explains in details the keys to do all this for us dumb fellow thank you.

  3. This is somewhat of a great tutorial… however, is it assumed that we know the basics of Blender and some basic hotkeys? Was never explained how to even get the image into Blender to work with. Had to read the comments. The very first step after making the cube, you scale it on the Z axis, but I have no idea what key was pressed to do so? And so on so forth. Hard to progress without the first step explained.

Sorry if I seem negative, I really am not. I bet you just went forward doing the tasks naturally to you, which is understandable. But for someone like myself, I have never touched Blender until 5 minutes ago so I know none of the hotkeys.

  4. hi when ur doing the handle u added cylinder as a object but cylinder contains triangle mesh at top and bottom circular part, I thought while designing a GAME OBJECT mesh need to be square?
    thats my question

  5. Some will look at the date of this tutorial and think it not applicable to current modeling practices but they would be very wrong! This is an excellent basic sword Blender tutorial that is timeless! I would suggest it to anyone wanting to learn how to model with easy, simple and just a few commands!

  6. Wow, 3 years later and you're still replying to comments! Now that's good service. This vid was quite helpful, and I'm using it in conjunction with another sword tutorial. One question, though, how would I go about adding a more HD texture to the sword? I'm going to start Skyrim modding, and I can't exactly put into the game a low-res sword.

  7. VscorpianC Could you make a tutorial video on how to model the sword from a very old movie called The sword and the sorcerer. It's a three bladed sword that could shoot two of the blades.

  8. when you extrude along the blade, where do you get this help-line from that prevents you from pulling it into the wrong direction? i means its like extruding along an axis, how did you make that?
