Keyboard shortcuts used in this tutorial:
LeftClick – Select Objects
MMB – move the camera
S – Scale
S + Z = Scale on the Z axe
Tab – Switch from Object Mode/Edit mode
Mousewheel – zoom in/zoom out
Ctrl + R = Create loopcut
Shift – hold selection
A – diselect
E – Extrude

  1. Before pressing control-R to make those lines, press the magnet button on the toolbar below to turn snapping on, then select "Increment" in the drop-down below. It'll make the lines you place exact instead of eyeballing them, which makes life a bit easier.
