  1. Excellent tutorial as always.

I had issues around 12:45 when the bottom edges of the cup got scaled down; the scaling kept happening towards the 3D cursor.

If anybody else has that issue, in the toolbar of the 3D View there is a button next to the render options (Viewport Shading) with the name "Pivot Centre for Rotation/Scaling"; change that to just about anything other than the 3D cursor.

See this for more info: https://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?98779-Blender-keeps-scaling-relative-to-the-3D-cursor

That aside, thanks for everything that you've done, Blender Guru!

  2. I'm having a problem when I try to extrude the mug top inwards to make it look hollow It says its extruding, however It's not visible theres now hollowed part I can still see the top. Can somebody please explain how to do this properly?

  3. I'm having a problem with the connecting part: When I delete the faces on the inside the shape is just fine but the shading stays all weird. I have recalculated the normals but it isn't working. Anyone know the problem?

  4. As a new member of the fan community of blender I'm overwhelmed of your work. Never before a Workshop has been that rich in variety in combination with cool stuff and extrem helpful hints! Thanks for your good work – I'm sure after finishing the doughnut (I yet did – Scene editing will be the next part) I will turn onto your other Workshops!

  5. Hey there, great video. I have a question tho… As i started fooling around in blender for practice something happened with my focus point for scaling rotating and everything. Its no longer automatic and object focused, it means i have to right click to set um my focus point for editing my object… this really slows down my flow since i cant do what you did at 29:22 since i have to reset all axes before rotating or scaling.. I searched online but couldn't find an answer…. i would really appreciate if anyone could help me… TYVM

  6. Been working for the past 7 months, saved money to buy a PC and learn vfx. I wasnt sure what software I was going to use. I knew Blender was an option. When I found your tutorials Andrew, I knew this was the software for me. You make this so fun and intresting. You are a great teacher, thanks or making these tutorials. <3

  7. Just a quick question for you or anyone else that might like to answer. Why when you wanted to do the inside of the cup did you use the extrude function rather than deleting the top face and using the solidify modifier? As a complete novice that seemed a lot easier to me and you had already encouraged us to use modifiers to do the work for us whenever we could? Just curious!

Thanks for the awesome videos. I'm learning a lot and at a good pace.
