In this tutorial we’ll explore the basics of Box Cutter – a paid Blender 3D modeling add-on by Team C (Jerry Perkins and Adrian Rutkowski). Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

After the release of Hard-surface Modeling in Blender course we got a lot of questions about the modeling plugins for Blender, so we decided to launch a brand new series of videos covering some very neat paid and free tools.

  1. Paid add-on can go die in fire, blender is 100℅ free and it's such amazing software, but these guys wanna earn money by selling add-on,instead to join blender devs, and improve blender?nah never gonna use it and support these scumbags.

  2. I've been thinking of purchasing the add on recently. But i want to know how good is box cutter in maintaining the geometry after the boolean operations. Weird shading artifacts and geometry errors are sometimes present when using bool tools. If box cutter is better at it which it surely looks like.. Can it maintain the geometry better?

  3. Can you pleeeeease make a tutorial demonstrating a technique called 'Interior Mapping' for windows, I've only found this method used in the Unreal Engine game engine, the YouTube videos are called 'Fake Interiors for UE4', so this technique involves using cube maps, parallax scrolling and raytracing to create a 2d textured illusion of a 3d room as if looking through the window, here is an online pdf I found explaining the process using UE4, there are none tutorials for Blender thst I can find. http://www.proun-game.com/Oogst3D/CODING/InteriorMapping/InteriorMapping.pdf

  4. I Have needed a good Tutorial like this to show me all the features Box Cutter has. I've been using it for little while and had no idea about many of these features thanx Gleb for this video you always cover things in an easy and concise fashion without mindless boring bits throughout.

  5. Carver MT I use in addons, it does what you describe in the video, and its free. Press Ctrl shift X to start it up once enabled, works best in orthographic mode for the obvious reasons. Hold shift to rebool. Space changes cutting type. Esc goes back to object mode. Simple/

  6. I like your tutorials over Team C's. Mainly Masterxeon's. I have both Box Cutter and HardOps but haven't made as much progress/wip's with it than I wanted to as his videos move to fast. Thanks to your Box Cutter tutorial, I will improve. 🙂

  7. I have purchased the full course of Gleb and Aidy. These guys are very good , precise and fluid like a nice particiles at the 200 render frames. Very happy you made this tuts on box c. Jerry, Gleb, Aidy. 10 points
