Aidy Burrows here taking a look at the new Eevee real-time viewport being developed for Blender 2.8

The Eevee viewport for Blender is now available for very early testing! Once you’ve got it working it’s a lot of fun to try it out. However there are a few things that I think you should know which hopefully will make your experience with it a little more pain free.

    bro i am on a heart attack right now just look at that. blender looks like a software rather than shit. how view T full it is that blender has EEVEE ON 2.8 i am so very exited for the release of blender 2.8

    If you launch blender with the option –enable-copy-on-write, the Subsurf modifier will be working with Eevee, just tested with build 2013-03-12, info found on this page where you'll see that option mentioned various times with certain caveats https://code.blender.org/2018/03/eevee-f-a-q/

    I thought it was already setup. And I noticed there's no "Real Time Rendered" setting. I imagined EV was just a matter a of throwing on shaders and presto.

    I was wondering if there's any way to switch to GPU Compute in this version? I'm sure Eevee will support it in the final release.
    Downloaded 2.8 beta last night and played around with it a bit. Opening User Preferences immediately crashes the program haha. Any advice?

    That's amazing but such a powerful 3D editor should have features included for those creating 3D printable designs, measurements we can use to create precise sized objects for printing. The way it is we must created something by sight, export it in STL or OBJ and then load it into another 3D editor so we can size and finish the object.

    do you think eevee will ever be a replacement for cycles because i heard that eevee is not exactly a real pathtracer like cycles but i saw some sources saying that eevee can pathtrace but just a little less accurately than cycles

    Great tutorial, Im really curious about evee. I know that the materials in Evee and Cycles will be comatible in the end, but I'm afraid of the lack of the "solid" mode… It will ruin my pc probably, are they going to add it?

    Does anyone know if it's possible to download the hallway at 22:00, or would it come with the Eevee build that he's demo-ing in the video? I'd just like to modify it in 2.79.

    After 6 months on Blender I searched for such methods and arrived to PBR and cycles and told myself such a method should be native, last week. They just did it! Very very cooooool
