Blender tutorial: Fountain

A project that took way too much my time than what I was thinking it would take. This fountain was a huge project, but I hope it will help someone who is planning to create something even greater. Like whole village or garden. 🙂

  1. You still got it! Lol the "happy place for flowers" comment made me think of Bob Ross. Your modeling vids are always so fun to watch.

If I can request something, can you do a vid where you model various shapes and export to Unreal? Like just a reference for how sharp edges, smoothed edges, flat shading, etc. Look exported with various materials and normal maps? Not a giant in depth Unreal tutorial. Just an idea for how different techniques look imported.

I'm just too lazy to spend a day or two exporting shapes and seeing how things appear. Plus I'm too busy working on character stuff and perhaps it's just me but maybe not and other people would like examples of what that would look like without exporting.

Also, some information on combining seams and sharp edges would be great too in combination with how sharp edges and seams effect baking normal maps. If I remember the rule correctly, seams dont need sharp edges, but if using a sharp edge, you might as well use a seam since the sharp edge splits the vertices anyways just like seams and won't increase your vertice count?

  2. Hello, I am amazed by your fountain, I am now doing one project and have been thinking for a long time what to put in front of the house … (you saved me, thank you so much), I made a fountain, …
Do you mind if I use it in my project? Thanks

  3. Awesome tutorial, thank you very much! What is the other addon that you mention for uv island packing? Shotpacker seemed to do an impressive job. I'm either getting that one or the other one.
