I learned this by carefully deciphering a really grainy video tutorial I found on some obscure website (in Portugese if I remember right). I made this video so you wouldn’t have to.

  1. Thanks for the tutorial ! My next challenge is to make the animation work in UE4. Note that in Blender 2.79 it still works. Just make sure your pivot reference is on "Global" and not "Normal", "Local" or anything else. Also, don't forget to rotate the second Bezier curve along the X axis, Otherwise you won't see anything. Godspeed everybody!

  2. OMFG! Where was this tutorial 6 months ago?, I searched all over, watched many tutorials, ended asking in a Blender group in FB, all that could had been avoided if I had found this tutorial… why did this not show up on my search?.

  3. So everything's going fine up until the point where I add the "taper" to the main bezier curve. Once I do that, the main bezier disappears and clicking and dragging the hook does nothing. What's going on? Also, I had some trouble when you said to add the circle. I originally added a mesh circle and I was unable to select this for the bevel on the main bezier. I finally figured out there was more than one type of circle. After adding the bezier circle, the tube appears as expected on the main bezier when setting it. So maybe you should be careful to distinguish that in the future. But after setting the taper of the main bezier nothing happens and the main bezier disappears even after dragging the hook. How do I correct this? Thanks.

  4. Thanks a lot for the useful tutorial. Important question: Can we edit the proportions of the cylinder shape? I mean – for example a long normal pipe and then just starting in the end with the narrowing? Now I have the impression that blender just calculates a proportional narrowing between the start point (circle) and the end point (tip). Can we edit a narrowing which is not proportional and would look from 10 to 0 like this: 10, 9.9, 9.7, 9.4, 9, , 8.4, 7.5, 5.6, 4, 2, 0 (for example…) thanks for the answer!
