How come when I render it it shows as all black?

Ahh blender. The first 3D Modeling and Animating program i ever used… And when those animations are done immediatly throw them into sony vegas and edit them.

I hit Animation a few hours later when its finished its just one picture from the end and in the save file!
My problem is I have everything ready (I was making an intro btw) so I'm in video settings, music is matched to the video, everything is good, but I can't figure out how to put it on my desktop without it being a blender file, I don't want it to be a blender file I want it to be a video so I can send the intro to my friend.

If you get a "Cannot open or start AVI Movie file" message, change your output directory to desktop
Forgot to change from png to avi. (facepalm) now I have 270 pictures.

When I pressed animation to render it, it kept rendering the same frame over and over again and resulted in a 00:00 long video. Can anyone help?

How long will it take cuz last time it took 3 days…and it was just one photo and I clicked animation and did it 5 times so about half a month just rendering and then failing miserably
