Description
In this video I’m talking about the deathblow just delivered to the LESS project now that Bootstrap is moving over to SASS.
To learn more about LESS vs SASS watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUZzAUuMHVI

I think the title is deliberately misleading and inflammatory. Based on the content, it sounds like Bootstrap kept jQuery & LESS alive longer instead of killing it. It also mentions 2019 in the past tense, but it was only posted in February.
This should be titled "Will jQuery and LESS Survive Without Bootstrap?"
Great information. Thank you.
Wrong, scss killed less, flex killed bootstrap and modern browsers killed jquery
I am new in front-end web development can i have some online training help from anyone here like gives me tasks to do and practice? Thanks
I don't think spending 1 day or 2 to learn jQuery is q waste of time. And Bootstrap is going to die since CSS Grid is much better.
1. If you use a CDN for jQuery (like most people) and you set the proper HTTP caching headers there isn't any bandwidth problem… The download is fast, it is performed only once and cached forever. 2. I think that jQuery still makes code clean and compact compared to vanilla Javascript
Nobody's writing C? Could have fooled me.
I think vanilla JS code isn't quite at jQuery's height just yet… And that you guys are ungrateful dicks for hating on jquery.
good!I get it !
jQuery greatly simplifies JavaScript programming.
Bootstrap is such junk I cannot believe. If you use it you will have problems with everything on front end – guaranteed.
I feel that gridCSS is gonna kill all the CSS frameworks
went to do a project that used SASS and it never worked. required jshint and something else and it kept giving errors, errors, and more errors to the point it wasn't worth doing the project.
what error you may ask?
"…circularJSON is deprecated and flattedJSON is its successor…" – and nothing worked after > npm -install -g jshint | -install -g sass | -install -g eslint
all 3 gave same error
couldn't even get off the ground of this project in the first 3min of the first video in a playlist of 12x 20min videos.
you can imagine my disappointment.
jQuery is to old for 2019
Vue 🙂
You touching some good points.👍
Pls slowly) I fucking Russian, I can't know y
How about CSS Grid and Flexbox killed Bootstrap ? Should anyone invest time on Bootstrap ?
front-end framework like vue, react, angular has already killed jquery these days… statement type definitely beats command/order type programming, no need to locate specific dom element anymore if you use vue/react/angular…
does vuetify kill bootstrap in 2019???
Even the creator of jquery is no longer using it.
Hi Chris, Great video. All the IT companies in my region seem to list .NET jobs, not PHP. Never used the Microsoft languages for code, only PHP and Javascript etc. I read a Visual Basic book years back, does this even exist anymore?! In my limited experience, the .NET Microsoft movement seems to be gathering pace and Microsoft really making a strong comeback. I have no idea about .net, asp.net, .net core… and whether this all directly ties in with Azure as well and perhaps AWS. I would LOVE a nice basic little overview in your roadmap for next Youtube videos if possible. Gonna check out the out ".net" videos from your Youtube catalog but would love a little overview for a total newbie across the whole Microsoft programming range.
I just read about an article titled "the death of bootstrap and why you shouldn't learn it' , honestly I find web dev advices very confusing, so much contradictory information.
React dom min v is 111 kB approx should not be used along with jQuery
And where does it say that they are not going to use less and jquery anymore?
Vanilla.js > jquery
Polyfill > library (youll remove a polyfill eventually)
Is bootstrap going to rely on vanilla js instead of jquery?
why you don't activate auto subtitles in your videos?
Not if jquery is built into the browser natively then it would be fast. But i doubt that's gonna happen
As long as jquery helps people write short and clear javascript, it will never die.
All template building companies should consider this as they use jQuery and its plugin heavily.
