This is an up to date tutorial on using Blenders camera tracking features. This tutorial is aimed more at people who already have a basic understanding of Blender. Special Thanks to Andrew Price for the footage.

I was following you video when I ran into a problem the model will render but the materials
wont saw up please help heres my blend file http://pasteall.org/blend/index.php?id=49548
Thanks so much! This helped me a lot!
shouldn't the focal length correlate with the camera focal length that Andrew used IRL? Basically, it depends on the video you take and track.
thanks+ I did the blender guru tutorial but i am in 2.78… You saved me !
i create a material (glass) but when i render it's always a grey object. cycles render. how can i fix it??
🙁 mine doesn't have that for some reason
Thanks for the tute, I will make good use of it!
Just a quick tip for the very beginning of the video. If you have a short clip like that, rather than just repeating it, run it backwards first and then repeat it. That way the camera motion goes back and forth showing off the tracking smoothly. It's a lot easier on the eyes than letting the fragment jump at the end of every loop.
I have seen blender guru video, I was just wondering that someone could make this tutorial using cycles render. This was awesome tutorials as this was improvement over previous blender guru tutorial on the same subject clearing so many doubts. Thanks
cool bro
This tutorial was so useful mate, thank you so much for invest your time on this, really appreciate it. By the way on min 45:41, you mixed two nodes. How you did it?
just check out andrew price`s tutorial…and Ionwe, you`re right…hope to see you at DBC-3D again…
who the hell would give this a thumbs down!
Looks just like the Pothole at the end of my Driveway/Parkway for you Brits 😛
I hate to say this but I have a little criticism on this video,
It is for example very important to get the right focal length. Also refining the k1 and k2 is quite important for the lens distortion.
I think it's very cool of you to create a video on tracking (because like you said its always different) but it's not smart to just guess wich camera values to use. They are so important for a stable track.
Exactly what I wanted, thank you so much for this tutorial 🙂
