In this week’s edition, we take a look at the release of Disney’s retro games for Linux, Transport Fever announced for Linux, and more.
Disney’s Lion King, Jungle Book, and Aladdin now available for Linux
If you’re a fan of retro games, I have great news for you: Three of Disney’s classic games (Jungle Book, Aladdin, and Lion King) are now available for Linux on GOG.com.
Transport Fever coming to Linux
Transport Fever is a strategy game from the developers of Train Fever. Gameplay involves building a transport empire with trains, planes, and other modes of transport. The developers recently released a new trailer and announced that the game will come to Linux by fall of this year.
Metamorphic now available on Linux
Metamorphic, a physics-based puzzle game inspired by inspired by games like Portal, Minecraft, and Mirror’s Edge, is out now for Linux. Here’s what Gaming on Linux has to say about the game:
It comes across as quite well executed and rather clever at times. It confused me a on a few levels (but not for long) and I enjoyed the challenge. It’s a game that makes you think for a bit outside the box, but it’s not too hard.
Near Death
Near Death is an interesting attempt at a survival game that doesn’t classify itself as one. After your plane crash lands in Antarctica, you find yourself stranded and alone at an abandoned research facility in the midst of a deadly blizzard. Here’s what Gaming on Linux has to say about the game:
I really like how the game is relying on audio cues to know when to warm up, instead of some UI thermostat for your character she starts making chilly noises. This is the type of game that actually makes me feel cold playing it, I actually had the shivers a few times when my character did as the atmosphere is very well crafted.
