I put 2 displacement mods and made the sky have a subsurface modifier of level 3, yet it still looks like crappy PS1 graphics, even when i made it smooth. Why?
If you add a second Voronoi displacement with 1/3 the noise size, a bit less contrast, and less than half the strength it looks a lot more realistic IMO.
Just make sure you have subsurf at 5 or it'll be jagged and weird.
Thanks for the great tutorials, Andrew.
I am amazed how many times I have to go back to the very beginning and start over. Same with the donuts and the anvil, I still have to go back to the beginning in the anvil. And the clouds, I have to get together because I want to hang out there in the clouds. I think as a beginner in blender I find my self getting lost in the difference and names of objects, materials, textures, modifiers, empties, and then have to start over so I can follow you and see where I went wrong. Like a blender mantra over and over and over.
I did have the problem you were referring to at 25:00 and it was worrying me a lot, giving it a volume fixed it for me. danke.
i learnt "ahm"
I know this video is a bit old, but you mentioned someone who was making an after-effects lens flare plugin for blender. Does anyone know who that is?
And then of course, there are "The Simpsons" clouds;)

hey the multiple importance feature is not changing my render results
what is the shortcut key to hide sky at 21:46 ?
7:12 RX VEGA!
can you make something like this in blender render?
What about the add on in blender that allows you to generate clouds from meshes into points which makes it easy to animate.
I am stuck at rendering the volume scattered cloud. Like at 20:54 the shadow parts of the cloud are dark. My shadow parts are fully transparent. E.g. adding the blue sky makes the shadow parts blue like the sky.
I tried adding volume absorption but the result is the same. Any suggestions?
It's cumulonimbus.But,awesome work man.Thanks for the tutorial.
moving cloud tutorial? like a plane or a flying superhero passing thru.
49:20 couldn't you just apply the scale?

Dammit my blender keeps crashed when I render with GPU
do you have a written tutorial, you go extremely fast
what if i want to make a movie where i fly with the camera throught the scene?
cant i just download it?
I don't know what i did wrong, but every time i render, my plane (the cloud ground, if that's even a thing) looks transparent, only some certain areas show up…
EDIT : I don't know if it's because of the camera angle or the scale of the plane…I guess another wasted tutorial, this is why i avoid 50+ mins tutorials, i always get lost like half way through it…..
Here's what I came up with from your tutorial. Thanks so much!!

respect thats all i can say
How do we color the clouds if we want to say, make them blue or yellow (or both)?
You're really good in what you do
Have you seen the clouds in FSX? They don't look bad, but they can be improved. There are a lot of repeating patterns in the sky. Now I know that's a massive game and to add realistic clouds would only increase the size. And on top of that the game is already nine years old…
My render somehow deletes the faces facing the camera, but it does render the edges of the clouds. HELP!
i check multiple importance but nothing changes, sky color does not affect to my clouds
Part of my mesh becomes invisible when I add the volume scatter node. I removed all of the modifiers and the whole plane was invisible and when i removed the scatter node it reappeared so I know it has something to do with the nodes. does anybody know why its doing this?
Can't you just add the render layers together with a simple add node? If you do the transparencies properly it should work, right?
