Conceptualizing the Earth – Blender Cycles Render

Hello everyone, today I’m using Blender to make a composition of the Earth. I did almost the same thing at work, and thought it was kind of cool, so I wanted to make a tutorial about it. How I did the concept and all the effects to accomplish the most realistic earth in my abilities.

You will learn how to work around Blender, the Open Source #1 3D software, how to use nodes for the material in Cycles, creating a beautiful glow after rendering in the rendering layer using nodes as well. And above all to have fun.

Thank to NASA Observatory for such wonderful image catalog Visible Earth, also thanks to Aaron Weems for suggestions, Andrew Price for his tutorials, Jingle Punks for the prelude music, Jason Farnham for the credits music and Mitja Mithans for the Corporate Logo Intro music. Also to the great open source community, specially Blender and Ubuntu who make this possible.

NOTE:
I didn’t used the mouse actions provided by Blender, instead I added some titles in functions that I did for the first time, so keep your notes, I think this way you will concentrate to learn to use your shortcuts and not get distracted trying to figure out what I did in the mouse and keyboard display provided by Blender.

But if you would like me to use such tool, just let me know.

Happy designing and happy coding!
