  1. Good thing you used a plane of triangles as your piece of shit example workpiece instead of an actual, proper triangulated, closed / convex hull mesh cause then all you would have for a video would be how pathetically, completely and utterly blender fails at this basic task.

  2. If I have too many tris on my models in Blender, I'd first remove double points, export models in OBJ and import them into Sculptris. There I'd use the Reduce Brush, quick and easy. After that, I return models to Blender and do retropology on them.
