More adventures in creating art without drawing! In this tutorial, I’ll run through an approach to create a vector or vexel style treatment using a few key tools in Adobe Photoshop. This look will draw some inspiration from the portraits of Shepard Fairey, but this approach can be adapted to create all kind of other vector-ish styles… thanks for watching!

  1. Hi ! This tutorial is great! Yet, I've been trying to do it with a couple of images and I can't get the 4 colors when applying the hard mix blend mode and moving around with the color selector. Do you have any idea what I'm I doing wrong?? I've been following the tutorial step by step several times now… please help!

  2. Your information is incredible! Before following "10 Tips for amazing Layer Styles" I only slightly understood what they did. I immediately signed up for your top Patreon membership to show my appreciation. I have no idea where else this information is available on the web because I've been searching for it and until landing on your tutorials, couldn't find it at all.

  3. Even when trying to replicate this with the exact image he used, the Solid Color Layer + Hard Mix comes out much darker with less detail. Would anyone have any insight to why this is happening? Her left sleeve is pretty much completely black, even when using the same color values as well.
