Happy earth day mother photographers! I’ve been out in the mountains celebrating by doing some landscape photography in the El Chalten area. And, I decided to give you guys another one of my “day in the life” series. This, is the day in the life of a landscape photographer in Patagonia.
I think that the point of this whole video is not only to show you the daily life of a landscape photographer, but to drive home the point to you guys not to give your work away for free. Landscape photography isn’t just about the time it takes to click the shutter and take a photo. It’s about the time it takes to hike, the weather you fight, the time spent gaining the knowledge, and of course the struggle of hiking, and packing all the gear around.
Being a landscape photographer isn’t simple work, but man is it every rewarding. You get to see incredible places, explore beautiful places in this world, and watch the earth in all its glory. For me, today, on earth day, is the perfect time to celebrate this planet. And, being a landscape photographer, to me, is just that – celebrating the beauty of this planet.
So, what does being a landscape photographer mean to me? It means having the freedom to share the beauty of this earth. It means being privileged to see the world in the perfection that it is.
A day in the life of a landscape photographer is never the same, but it does look a little like this.
Tomorrow, I get back to the regular photography and travel vlogs here in Patagonia. We have another day in El Chalten area shooting landscape photography and hiking, and then we’re heading even farther south in Patagonia to places like El Calafate and Puerto Natales.

  1. Nice! I made these two hikes 15 years ago. Laguna de Los Tres, Laguna Torre… Good to watch nice pictures, i just had an expandable film camera.
According to the locals, the mountains can disappear for weeks. The weather is unpredictable in this area of the globe. You've got the Fitz Roy ("El Chalten" )but not the Cerro Torre, that is considered lucky.

  2. Why were you so in love with the time in this vlog? 😀 The clouds in the first few clips looked absolutely stunning, especially illuminated by the rising sun, anybody know what they are called?

  3. Wild Patagonia! Nothing more and nothing less, we have to live with the bipolar climate (or multiple personalities)

Ask for all I'm having problems to make a timelapse of dawn (night to day) much flickr, which method of measurement to use? When to change parameters in the camera?
