Append tool isn't working for me, it just goes down diagonally.

Just a quick tip. If you shouldn't know already, you can just use the 'Mirror Polygon' in the right click menus. So just make a quick split where you wanna mirror, press shift right click, go to mirror polygon, select axis – or + and boom its combined and merged. it doesn't care about pivot location, just make sure your vertices are level. Although its maya, this tool actually never failed me.

I can't write fractional values in Bevel offset. Maya accepts only integers. Mayby somebody know why this is happening and how can I deal with it?

for the Interactive Split Tool, instead of pressing enter/return and pressing G, you could just right click – it finishes it and keeps the tool selected. could make things a little easier. great tutorial though

Curious what the parameters were for polybevel2 since mine was giving a clean 45° but only with one edge whereas yours at 4:49 had two, not sure what happened there, not sure if it's a 2015 thing or not or just me still being a beginner at modeling. Thanks for the tutorial though. EDIT: nevermind, confused the second edge for an interior one. im an idiot sorry DOUBLE EDIT: 2015 crapped up the algorithm but was decent enough to include a legacy option

Nice tutorial man! 🙂 byt one thing tho, did you know that if you use a tool like split tool you don't need to press enter and then g you can just press the Y key 🙂

Is there a reason why you used the duplicate special tool over the mirror geometry tool when you were making the bottom half of the camera body?

And how about the append polygon tool, bridge tool, and fill hole tool. Does it really matter which on you us. It does similar things

Would u recommend using an edge loop tool instead of bevel tool to smooth the edges?
Because if you us a lot of Edge loop tool, you will have a lot of uv faces, therefore it will take a longer time to render your model out.
