How I started my PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS as a TEENAGER

Since the start of my junior year, photography has been an incredible way to develop skills and gain experience all while making MONEY. It’s been more than just a part-time job, and I want to share with you everything I’ve learned along the way, from how to actually get started and how to find clients, to how to set up your photography website and become an official business.

  1. Excellent video! Really informative! I appreciate you sharing the whole business aspect of being a photographer. So often on YouTube when you do a search for the business side of photography, you end up with a bazillion gear reviews, or an avalanche of "how to use your camera" tutorials. But almost nothing on getting started with the business side of things. Nicely done!πŸ‘

  2. ngl the fact that you were comfortable charging 99 dollars when you first started getting payment is impressive. I've been taking photos since 2014 and I started charging for shoots in 2018, and I still do 10 dollar for the shoot + 3 dollar per edited picture. I'm starting a higher education photography school this fall and plan to raise my prices significantly during that time. Idk I've always been afraid to overcharge since I didnt have a proper education(even if I did study photography in high school aswell). This video really inspired me to take my photography more serious! thank you πŸ™‚

  3. I might be a bit late with the question πŸ˜€ What is your low quality/resolution photo sending as a preview to the client? When you want to charge for extra photos (extra to your package which they previously choose) I am worrying that they will just save previews and would not want to buy additional high quality.

  4. Ahhhhh I don't know what to do I live in a town of 4500 people and there is a photographer I don't want to put anyone out of business also we are pretty good friends with her and ya idk… Help?

  5. Hi, I'm going into higher education this year and I've chosen to pursue photography. How realistic is an employed route in this industry ? πŸ’šπŸ’š

  6. Damn Girl!!! You my dear…are expectional!
Thank you for your WELL developed plan for starting a photography business! I was on a YouTube binge of videos on this topic but I can just stop here. You laid all the basics out right here! And you started this in what your sophomore or junior year in highschool!?!

Keep up that entrepreneur spirit! You won't ever HAVE to work for somebody (although you could choose to).

As a 25 year-old who recently graduated from college, you just gave me hope! You showed me it can be done. You made my goal so concrete!

    Thank you for your advice!

P.S. I loved your detailed customer service down to the sending thank you cards! πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

  7. Thank you so so much for this video!! it was more helpful than any of the other "how to earn money with photography" type videos I've seen from photographers who have been in the game for 10+ years!!! Definitely will be rewatching many times again ;D

  8. My friends are also amateur photographers and we double as each other's models, so I definitely can't charge them. Even if I did, then they'd charge me too so there would be literally zero profit lol
