How I use Continuous Lighting for Food Photography | Behind the Scenes

This is the third and final video in this series where I explore continuous lighting for food photography and in this video, I take you behind the scenes of how I shoot food photography using a constant light.

UPDATE 9/16/2020: As for the comparison between the picture lit with the godox and the one lit with the fluorescent bulb, I do realize it was unfair to compare them without properly adjusting the white balance on the second photo. Therefore, I’m not claiming for it to be an accurate representation of light quality coming out of both sets of lights. I apologize if it was misleading in any way.

Other than that, I hope this BTS helps!

  1. Hey, there is this big war on internet better strobe light vs continues light. I feel both of them can produce similar results, it is just maybe continuous one gives better preview.. what is your take on this really confused ..

  2. Excellent video very informative ! I'm perhaps the only one here who prefers the first version of the noodles shot , I found that the technique you used to combine between both harsh light and the diffused one was matching the breakfast picture perfectly ( kinda giving the impression that it's a morning sun ray ) while the noodles are more liklely to be eaten at lunch or dinner , I don't know just my humble opinion , anyway great video from beginning to end (y)

  3. This is a really good way to learn this type of photos but what I would it done is a couple of shoots with the window open and the curtains half way so the hard light touches the scene and maybe a white reflector to smooth the shadow, I just pictured that in my head.

  4. I love that you didn't say anything and showed the process of everything at a good pace. Many youtubers take much time speaking and the viewers finish the video still confused, you sir are perfect. I'm subscribing .
