How to Add Snow to an Image in Photoshop

No doubt, snow can be a fantastic addition to a wide range of images, but not all of us live in a place that gets snow, or we might be shooting in the wrong season. No problem, though, as we have Photoshop, and this excellent video tutorial will show you how to use it to add snow to any photo.

Coming to you from Unmesh Dinda with PiXimperfect, this great video tutorial will show you how to add snow to an image using Photoshop. Not all of us live somewhere that gets snow, or if you live at a similar latitude as me, this time of year is a bit unpredictable, as there is often snow, but other days, it might be 60 degrees and sunny. Luckily, as Dinda shows, it is not particularly difficult to convincingly fake the look, and though you probably will not be applying the effect to an entire batch of images, if it is something your clients want, it is great to use on a shot or two. One additional thing to consider is your subjects’ wardrobes. If you intend on adding snow to a photo after the shoot, be sure to have them dress in believable clothing to complete the look. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Dinda.
