  1. 2017 and this video was still very useful, and I'm not making lightning, yet this was very useful for something else, but how about a tutorial for vanishing like this but on cycles?.

Cycles scare me, I mean the nodes and well a tutorial would be appreciated =D

  2. I HAVE 2 main doubts in blender … 1) Why when I texture the objects in Blender render and try to view(or edit) it in cycles render I am not able to do that ,,,,, the texture is missing why?… 2) How to create semisolid substance like jam, tooth paste, tomato paste, ice cream, semisolid soil (because of rain), etc.?

  3. Umm… FYI, lightning actaully forms from the ground, pathing its way up to the sky. Just look up slow-motion lightning. Lightning is really wacky. It also has lots of finer tendrils that disipate quicker.

  4. Could you please update this awesome video as blender is at stage 2.74. i have tried this several times an keep failing. i love all your videos as they are very instructional. thank you for your wonderful help an videos

  5. im trying to make lightning for a thor hammer effect, could someone explain how i could take this and put it into a footage where someone uses a mjolnir prop to call lightning? there are absolutely no tutorials on that thing in blender

  6. Please update this tutorial for the latest version of blender. Theres road blocks in the middle of the video because some settings aren't in the current version of blender.
Btw, other videos on "Realistic" lightning out there hard to find and the ones that somewhat exist suck…this is the best one by far but I can't recommend it cause users will get stuck in the middle if they are using a later version of blender. Please update this awesome video.
