  2. Thanks for the help Andrew! I'm making a fan film for Aliens. I the space ship explodes, so I just needed a background to replace the green screen. Particle explosion in one file, firework explosion in the other.

  3. Everything has gone fine until I get to the smoke part. My smoke either just sits there as a square mass not moving. I tried changing some settings but it either goes up or down. Can't get it to spread out like yours does.

  4. I have a weird problem. I created a couple of fireworks and it worked great. However when I tried to create the same thing in my scene (a couple of mashes that rotate and a plane for background that changes its colour) my particle system is all messed up. The particles are created with an offset (quite noticeable) from the particle source (bad!) and to make things even worse – smoke is calculated as if everything is fine. Any advice is appreciated. ^_^

  5. Great tutorial as usual. A question: For your particle object, you used a group of a lamp and sphere. Before I watched this tutorial, I naively tried something similar using just a small cube as the particle object. I gave the small cube a light-emitting material. And the effect was quite good (!!). Just wondered if you see any advantages of one method over the other? I can only say that mine seems simpler, but you are the guru and I am a noob. Thanks !
