In this video, we will show you how to render professional looking images of your 3D scan data. These images can be used for marketing purposes or for properly presenting scan data to clients. We are using data from an Artec Spider 3D scanner, but you can use just about any 3D model with this tutorial.

Bit of a dumb video, the most important part of the process the 3d scan has been omitted because it was done on a machine that costs thousands of euros! Anyone that can afford thousands for scanning machine would probably be a professional using pro software like 3ds max or Maya anyway and wouldn’t be a Blender noob
Hey! Lets see if you can help me out on this 🙂 My question is about scanning an object in reality (for example your drilling machine) to be able to work with it / see it in virtual reality. Is it possible to put this virtual object into some format used with the Unreal Engine to walk around it and see it from different angles with the Oculus Rift or the Vive?
"Blender doesn't use real world units" – this is not true. On the right-top hand side, under the Object Tree, you got many tabs. You are on a "Render" tab, on the right of that there's "Render Layers" tab and right after that one you have "Scene" tab which is right in front of "World" tab. In the Scene tab you have Units like "None", "Metric" and "Imperial".
Why is it always an Andrew for visual tutorials: Andrew Price, Andrew Bougie, Andrew Kramer… It's scary XD
