Alimayo Arango of littleguycgi.com teaches how to model a simple airplane in Blender 2.71.

Alimayo also shows some simple rigging of landing gear in this tutorial.

There is also instruction of a simple cockpit setup which can be seen through thecockpit window in the finished model.

How to change a drawing into a vector and then bring it into Blender to make quick additional details for the model is also shown.

Here is a link to the eagle head vector that is used in the video.

  1. I'm a 3dsmax user, but your Blender tutorials are interesting.  I've subscribed to your channel, because I appreciate a good modeler, regardless of application.  My only question is why you would start with a box for this, instead of a cylinder, since you actually turned the box to a cylinder anyway.  Good work regardless, and excellent presentation.

  2. Just wondering, why did you turn a cube into a cylinder vs inserting a 8 sided cylinder?

Also, to add limit constraints to the empty:

    1. In object mode select the empty.
    2. In the properties window, select Object constraints (looks like a chain link).
    3. Add "Limit Rotation"
    4. Check Limit X and assign it a Min degree and Max degree.

  3. ooh yeah Alimayo i was wondering, i am a bit stuck now since i lost the menu on the right hand side. not the one from the N button, but from the start up… is there a shortcut to get this back? 🙂

  4. I simply just love your tutorials…. they are SO easy to follow, you are so through with everything, you say what button you press for every keystroke. you are slow, you are Clear… a  real tutorial for sure.. I just love it, its so simple to learn blender with this tutorial because you make it so simple and clear. Respect man! I Hope to get through with this one, and then i hope you release some mecha in the future.. 🙂

  5. Ali, I'm looking at the colour scheme of this aeroplane you demonstrate here and it's a wonderful, gleaming gold and red…like a certain Marvel Comics Avenger….Nah, you wouldn't do that on purpose, would you? You did!? Ossum!!

Excellent tutorial, by the way, Mr. A. Please keep 'em coming.

  6. Your tutorials are great!!! I was wondering though, would you be able to make a tutorial on how to make a water polo ball, If you know how to??? I have no idea how to make the weird texture.

  7. Wow 2+ hours and I need an extra seat cushion 🙂  IMHO I think selecting center face then using ctrl+ or ctrl- will speed up your work flow in many situations. Thanks for the tuts.
